Finding a lump in your head or neck can be unsettling. Knowing who to see can be just as difficult - particularly when there are many possible causes.

Dr Robert George is a Specialist Surgeon with extensive training across general surgery, melanoma, sarcoma and endocrine surgery, giving him a broad understanding of the conditions that can present as lumps or masses in the head and neck.

After achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), Dr George undertook a further three years of subspecialty surgical training across Emergency Surgery, Breast Surgery, and Melanoma-Sarcoma-Endocrine Surgery. His experience includes the assessment and surgical management of a wide range of soft tissue tumours, from common benign growths through to more complex conditions.

This breadth of experience means your assessment can be approached thoughtfully and in context - considering where the lump is located, how it has changed, your medical history and whether further investigation may be appropriate.

Dr George also has a strong academic and research background. He has completed a Scientific PhD and remains actively involved in surgical research.
